Job Description

Join a dynamic engineering services company, specializing in full-service design and assembly. We are seeking an Engineer Technician to assist in building intricate components for a prototype artisan ice machine. This project is projected to last at least a year, with a strong likelihood of additional work, making this a potential contract-to-hire opportunity.

Responsibilities

+ Design, program, and implement Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) to automate and control the ice machine's various functions.

+ Create and install complex wire harnesses for reliable signal and power distribution.

+ Accurately solder electrical components and connections for robust assemblies.

+ Assist in the design, assembly, and testing of Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) specific to the ice machine.

+ Perform rigorous tests to diagnose and resolve malfunctions, ensuring efficient operation.

+ Assemble and configure equipment for automation, focusing on artisan ice production.

+ Provide technical support to engineers in planning and optimizing equipment for improved ice quality.

Essential Skills

+ 1+ year of industry experience in building and optimizing electrical and mechanical components of specialized machinery.

+ 1+ years of hands-on experience with PLCs, wire harnesses, and PCB work.

+ Proficiency in PLC programming and implementation.

+ Expertise in wire harness design and installation.

+ Understanding or previous experience with soldering electrical components.

+

Experience with PCB design, assembly, and testing, with Solidworks or any transferable CAD experience.

Additional

Skills & Qualifications

+ Relevant certifications in PLC programming, soldering, and PCB assembly are highly desirable.

+ Associates or Bachelors degree in a technical field.

+ Experience working with a start-up company.

Work Environment

Work with a small team of 40 employees, collaborating with engineers to enhance machine performance. The position is on the first shift with flexible start times but core first shift hours.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Ann Arbor, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr.
