Position: Senior Engineering Lab Technician - Large Systems Testing Lab

Job Description

The LST (Large Systems Testing) Lab Technician plays a critical role in generating accurate, compliant test data by performing standardized laboratory procedures and quality control activities. This position supports ISO 17025 requirements through proper documentation, equipment maintenance, and audit preparation while ensuring adherence to safety and quality policies. This role also contributes to process improvement and the training and mentoring of other technicians.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct testing of equipment, products and materials for conformance to technical standards.
  • Perform all corporate and program quality control procedures to produce quality data meeting turnaround time commitments.
  • Assure adherence to all safety and health policies and procedures.
  • Train, assist and mentor technicians.
  • Develop test procedures and bench sheets for new testing schemes.
  • Perform maintenance of testing instruments, identify/procure new testing equipment, and assure existing equipment is calibrated.
  • Prepare all records (data, notebooks, and instrument books) in a timely, thorough, and neat manner.
  • Assist Engineers/Managers preparing for and during ISO 17025 audits.
  • Maintain inventory of testing supplies.
  • Perform laboratory procedures by following proscribed processes to achieve results that meet accreditation and policy requirements.
  • Evaluate and assist in the development of laboratory processes and maintenance/selection of instrumentation.
  • Perform laboratory procedures, exception investigations, and maintenance needs with minimal supervision.
Qualifications
  • Education:

    High School Diploma/GED
  • Minimum Years of

    Experience:

    1-5
  • Knowledge of basic laboratory skills.
  • Ability to document data in lab worksheets.
  • Knowledge of chemical names and formulas.
  • Ability to use basic laboratory equipment.
  • Perform laboratory procedures with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to follow quality requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with laboratory QA/QC programs.
  • Electrical skills, PLCs and data acquisition systems.
  • Understanding of and experience with laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
  • Familiarity with applicable testing equipment.
  • Understanding of basic water chemistry analysis.
