Transmission Line EIT​/Coordinator

HDR is seeking civil engineering candidates passionate about the power industry to join our team in Ann Arbor, MI. This role involves engineering tasks with varying complexity levels, assigned by a Project Engineer or Project Manager.

The EIT/Coordinator may work independently on small tasks and assist senior engineers on larger projects.

Responsibilities include:

• Performing routine and detailed design tasks
• Conducting analysis, engineering calculations, and developing construction documents for various structures
• Verifying code compliance, quality checks, and coordinating civil/structural work with other disciplines and CAD designers
• Designing site utilities and overhead lines, with experience or interest in civil design
• Participating in conceptual and detailed design activities for power, industrial, and institutional projects
• Communicating effectively, working in teams, and demonstrating analytical and organizational skills
• Developing design options through analysis
• Assisting with cost estimates and specifications
• Performing routine engineering and design tasks
• Participating in field reviews or construction observation, with some travel required
• Performing other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with PLS-CADD software
• Understanding of geotechnical theory and foundation design
• Experience with power transmission line projects up to 500kV, including project estimates, plan and profile prep, and engineering documentation
• Experience with overhead power transmission preferred; underground experience helpful
• EIT certification is strongly preferred; candidates without it will be titled "Coordinator" and expected to obtain EIT for career growth
• Local candidates are preferred
