Akkodis is seeking a Transmission OBD Calibration Engineer for a job with our automotive client in Chelsea and Auburn Hills, MI
. We are looking for someone with a minimum of 3+ years of experience in Powertrain/Transmission calibration with vehicle and/or OBD testing with INCA/ETAS in a Powertrain/Drivability/Emissions background.

Rate Range: $38/hr to $45/Hr. (The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.)

Position

Description:

Transmission On-Board Diagnostic (OBD) Calibration Engineer has the opportunity to develop diagnostic calibrations that meet all regulatory, safety, quality, and service requirements. They have the responsibility to assure that appropriate testing is defined, planned, and completed to fully validate all diagnostic features. They also serve as the leader for leading cross-functional teams to determine root cause and solutions for development, fast feedback, and customer vehicle diagnostic issues.

They will work with a variety of conventional and electrified transmissions that require a diverse set of technical skills to effectively lead their assigned programs. They will guide instrumentation of electrical and physical systems, utilize and review data from acquisition software (INCA) to ensure that the desired diagnostic behavior is achieved. The engineer will gather functional requirements as well as required milestones to plan and execute development to achieve on-time, successful product launches.

Basic:

Bachelor's in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.

Minimum of 5 years' experience in OBD, transmission, or emissions calibration or controls.

Desire to work both in and out of test vehicles.

Proficient in using INCA, Matlab, and Simulink/Stateflow.

Understanding of the goals of On-Board Diagnostics.

Functional understanding of transmission design and operation.

Basic proficiency with the major purpose & components of an electrified propulsion system.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills and business acumen.

Self-motivated/proactive with strong leadership and interpersonal skills.

Ability to operate both independently and as part of a team.

Basic computer proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and database applications.

Preferred:

Master's in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.

7 years' experience in OBD calibration, propulsion system component calibration, OBD or propulsion controls within the electric, gasoline, or diesel industry.

INCA, Matlab, Simulink, Stateflow, Minitab, C++, and Visual Basic experience.
