Overview

This role supports the power generation market and involves developing, contracting, and implementing natural gas and potentially renewable energy generation projects while serving as Owner’s Engineer and/or Advisor.

The Senior Project Manager will join a national, multi-discipline team that supports power and energy projects within the industrial, IPP, developer, and utility sectors. The role is a seller-doer who maintains client relationships, brings in projects, develops strategies and work plans, monitors status, and leads multi-discipline project teams to successful completion. Significant client interaction and strong verbal and written communication skills are required throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain positive and proactive client relationships.
  • Achieve project schedule, quality, and profitability goals.
  • Serve as proposal champion/manager; assist with proposal preparation, review of contract terms and conditions, and evaluation of risks associated with the services offered.
  • Provide daily leadership to the project team and technical staff in completing project activities.
  • Provide regular communication and coordination within the project team and with the client to ensure the work plan and deliverables meet expectations; monitor deliverables for quality and conformance.
  • Proactively monitor and maintain the project budget and schedule; develop recovery plans as needed.
  • Monitor the contracted scope of work and identify scope changes.
  • Provide training and mentoring to project team staff on project management and consulting issues.
  • Guide design or consulting work in the manager’s engineering discipline.
  • Routinely report project progress to local and regional accounting and operations teams.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field; or a combination of degree and relevant project experience.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant power generation project experience.
  • Registered Professional Engineer
  • PMP Certification
  • Experience designing or managing simple cycle and combined cycle EPC projects as owner, owner’s engineer, OEM, or EPC contractor.
  • Ability to handle multiple concurrent projects; demonstrated business development skills.
  • Strong communication, leadership, planning, and mentoring skills.
  • MS Office, Adobe, and other relevant software experience.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • 10 years related experience
  • Minimum 5 years of project management experience
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office, estimating and scheduling software, and project management software
  • Ability to interact with various design teams; excellent organizational, project management, and communication skills (written and verbal)
