Position OverviewReliance One, Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for one of our clients in the Ann Arbor, MI area. This role will support production initiatives by serving as a key link between Manufacturing Engineering and Product Design while driving continuous improvement, process optimization, and operational performance.
What You’ll Do- Act as a liaison between Manufacturing Engineering and Product Design teams to support production initiatives
- Perform routine process analyses to evaluate overall performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
- Champion and implement process improvement initiatives across the plant
- Monitor plant KPIs independently, identify performance gaps, and drive corrective actions
- Collaborate with direct reports and cross-functional teams to achieve operational goals
- Working knowledge of injection molding, metal forming, fabrication, and finishing processes, including related tooling and equipment
- Strong technical writing skills for quote packages, specifications, and process documentation
- High attention to detail with the ability to maintain exacting standards
- Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams
- Ability to establish performance standards and provide feedback and coaching to internal teams and external suppliers
- Familiarity with CAD systems/software for product and tooling design
- Knowledge of fixture design, sensors, PLCs and basic programming, error-proofing, and automation concepts
- Experience with APQP, GD&T, quality standards, and cosmetic/appearance requirements
- Understanding of raw materials, manufacturing methods, and cost‑effective alternatives
- Strong organizational, problem‑solving, and Microsoft Office skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience preferred
- 1–3 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial engineering environment preferred
