Squiggle Room Early Learning Center is a play- and project-based childcare center inspired by Creative Curriculum and the Reggio Emilia philosophy. We believe in cultivating curiosity, independence, and a love of learning by creating meaningful experiences for every child. Our teachers are facilitators, guides, and collaborators—encouraging children to explore, question, and grow in a nurturing and inspiring environment.
Responsibilities- Design and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans using Creative Curriculum and Reggio Emilia-inspired practices.
- Create a classroom culture that values exploration, creativity, and collaboration.
- Observe and document children’s progress, interests, and developmental milestones.
- Collaborate with co-teachers to plan and lead small-group and large-group activities.
- Maintain compliance with Michigan childcare licensing requirements and center policies.
- Build strong relationships with families through regular communication and parent conferences.
- Ensure a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (required).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with preschool-aged children in a licensed childcare or school setting.
- Knowledge of Creative Curriculum and/or Reggio Emilia philosophy strongly preferred.
- CDA (Child Development Associate) certification a plus.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
