ResponsibilitiesCamp staff assist and lead groups of campers in various camp programs and activities each day. They are responsible for the general safety, development, growth, and skill achievement of the participants in their group. Camp staff provide high‑quality educational and recreational experiences that focus on the Y's core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.

Requirements- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience working with children.
- Must have CPR and First Aid certification prior to employment.
- Experience hiring, training & supervising staff is preferred.
- Must demonstrate creativity, enthusiasm, and dedication.
- Must possess the skills necessary to provide safe, appropriate, and fun activities.
- Must be able to learn and use YMCA‑specific software within 30 days and basic Microsoft Office.
- Understanding of YMCA mission and cause is required.
- Camp Coordinator: High school diploma or equivalent; minimum 2 years of college in a related field; 2+ years of experience in working with children; experience hiring, training & supervising staff; creativity, enthusiasm, and dedication; ability to create lesson plans; CPR/First Aid; understanding of YMCA cause.
- Inclusion Specialist: Must be 21+ years old and a positive role model for children; high school degree or equivalent; at least 2 years of undergraduate work in youth development, psychology, social work, education, or a related field; 1‑year experience in camp or classroom management with youth ages 5‑14; 6 months experience with children with special needs preferred; strong communication, organization, creative problem‑solving, and human relations skills;
multilingual ability preferred; current CPR/First Aid certification required. - Lead: High school diploma or equivalent; 1‑year experience working with children; creativity, enthusiasm, and dedication; experience working with youth in a group setting and creating and implementing lesson plans; CPR/First Aid certification prior to the beginning of camp; experience in area of specialty required; multilingual ability preferred.
- Counselor: High school diploma or equivalent; 1‑year experience working with children; creativity, enthusiasm, and dedication; experience working with youth in a group setting and creating and implementing lesson plans; CPR/First Aid certification prior to the beginning of camp; multilingual ability preferred.

* If an applicant is hired, the Ann Arbor Y will provide CPR and First Aid training at no cost to the employee.
