OverviewThe Shift Leader is responsible for the overall leadership and direction of the store in partnership with the General Manager or the Assistant General Manager. The Shift Leader ensures the team has a clear understanding of goals, expectations, products, cleanliness, new directives and guest connections during the shift.
Core Responsibilities- Demonstrates mastery of the DOING of Team Member with ease, enthusiasm and excellence
- Lead shifts that focus on team engagement and guest satisfaction with a commitment to Make Fun Happen
- Think strategically about maximizing product sales and waste management
- Demonstrate a total store vision to take ownership of the look and feel of the store
- Be knowledgeable about the deployment for the day, and the roles and responsibilities
- Consistently leverage effective on-floor communication during the shift
- Identify the needs of the team and guest and address situations before they become problematic
- Understand multiple priorities of the shift and effectively communicate and delegate objectives and tasks
- Take ownership for the current shift and the shift that follows
- Ensure the team is executing SOP and quality standards correctly and consistently
- Coach and provide feedback to Team Members to ensure they are performing at their best
- Train team on role responsibilities, product knowledge and promotional items
- Perform administrative tasks with integrity and to completion (e.g., bank deposits, inventory, store product orders) as assigned
- Actively develop Team Members and discuss career and professional growth

Required:
- At least 1 year of leadership, restaurant, retail or customer service experience, or properly trained and approved by Caribou Coffee to assume Shift Leader responsibilities
- Ability to work early mornings, evenings, some holidays and/or weekends
- Must be at least 18 years of age
Preferred:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
The physical requirements for this position include hearing, speaking, seeing, bending, reaching, lifting up to 50 pounds, and the ability to stand for 4 to 8 hours, with or without reasonable accommodations.
