Position

We are seeking an experienced Lead Medspa Aesthetician/Laser Technician to join our team at Coachlight Clinic in Ankeny, IA. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of experience and an existing client base. The Lead Aesthetician will ensure exceptional patient experiences, promote long-term retention, and support the growth of the aesthetic practice through advanced clinical expertise, product knowledge, and strategic cross-selling.

In addition to hands-on treatments, the lead will provide mentorship, guidance, and operational support to ensure consistency, compliance, and clinical excellence across all aesthetic services.

The Lead Medspa Aesthetician/Laser Technician will deliver elective skincare services (including lasers, skin tightening, microneedling, facials, and Cool Sculpting) and will serve as a clinical leader within the aesthetic team, working under the supervision of Dr. Robbins. The role includes patient education on treatment plans and ensuring patient satisfaction, product recommendations, and retention.

Mon, Tue, Fri – 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Wed – 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM

Thu – 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM

Education and Experience
  • 8–10 years of experience as a laser technician and medical aesthetician.
  • Must have an existing clientele base.
  • Prior experience in a lead, senior, or mentorship capacity strongly preferred.
  • High school diploma; college degree a plus.
  • Licensed Iowa Aesthetician.
  • RN license in Iowa a plus.
Essential

Skills and Abilities
  • Experience with medical-grade facials and skincare.
  • Wide-ranging knowledge of skincare treatments, elective/aesthetic services, and products, including in-office products and related knowledge to answer patient questions (e.g., medical-grade vs nonmedical-grade or Cool Sculpting vs EmSculpt).
  • Substantial knowledge of medical office procedures and terminology.
  • Appropriate telephone etiquette and excellent communication skills.
  • Computer skills.
  • Obtain patient signatures on appropriate forms.
  • Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work as a team member; well-organized with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Respectful and empathetic toward patients and co-workers.
Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the clinical lead for aesthetic services, ensuring consistency, safety, and quality of all treatments.
  • Provide patients with complimentary consultations including nonsurgical and skincare consultations.
  • Provide patients with instructions and educational materials related to their skin type and adjust skincare regimens as appropriate.
  • Determine patient skincare goals and objectives; recommend products and services to facilitate attainment of those goals.
  • Seek supervision of physician as required on treatment protocols and notify the physician of any patient noncompliance or issues.
  • Coordinate correspondence to patients regarding their skin care treatment plan, product usage, or home care instructions.
  • Maintain patient medical records, including consultations, treatment details, product/use history, and communications; complete documentation within 48 hours of the appointment.
  • Perform treatments based on patient skin type, equipment used, and proper training on the machine before treating paying patients.
