Join Wesley Life Hospice's "We Honor Veterans" Program – Make a Lasting Impact on Fellow Veterans

We will work with your schedule! As many or few hours as you feel called to give.

As a veteran, you understand the unique bond and experiences that only fellow service members can share. Wesley Life Hospice invites you to extend that camaraderie by joining our We Honor Veterans program. Wesley Life Hospice is the ONLY Central Iowa Hospice to earn the Level 5 (highest possible) distinction with the We Honor Veterans Program created by the VA and The Alliance for Care at Home.

Your support can bring dignity, comfort, and honor to veterans at the end of their journey.

Ways You Can Make a Difference:

• Vet-to-Vet Cafés:
  Host small gatherings where veterans can share their stories, build connections, and find comfort in familiar company.
• Companionship Visits:
  Offer a listening ear, reminisce about shared military experiences, and provide companionship to veterans in their final days.
• Community
  
  Education:
  
  Help educate families and caregivers about the unique needs of veterans at the end of life, ensuring they receive the respect and care they deserve.
• Veteran Pinning Ceremonies & Final Salutes:
  Assist with ceremonies that honor a veteran’s service, including pinnings to share their stories and show our appreciation and military exits/final salute at the time of death.

Your presence can bring peace, respect, and pride to fellow veterans, reminding them they are not forgotten.

• Completion of Hospice Training provided by Wesley Life
