Controls Engineer / Automation Specialist

• PLC & HMI Programming:
  Develop and configure PLC and HMI systems for equipment control, both in-house and at customer sites.
• Technical Support:
  Respond to customer inquiries regarding previously delivered products and provide troubleshooting assistance.
• Electrical Design:
  Create single-line diagrams, electrical schematics, and site plans for new and existing systems, including motor and device layouts.
• Material Specification:
  Collaborate with purchasing to identify and source electrical components and materials.
• Failure Analysis:
  Investigate product failures, determine root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
• On-Site Support:
  Assist customers and contractors during installation, commissioning, and equipment startup phases.

  • ERP systems (Epicor experience is a plus)
  • Simulation tools (ANSYS or similar preferred)

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and 3D modeling software;
  Inventor experience is a strong plus.
• Strong analytical skills for troubleshooting and data analysis.
• Ability to travel for on‑site support and commissioning.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ankeny, IA.

The pay range for this position is $40.00 – $52.00 per hour. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
