Summary

The Mechanical Pile Superintendent II is responsible for overseeing field operations, general safety, productivity, schedule, quality work, commissioning, coordination with other Superintendent and project leaders on the jobsite. This position reports to the Director of Projects or another senior management personnel that the CEO may designate. This position is located in Ankeny, IA and working hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00am to 5:00pm or 9:00am to 6:00pm local time.

This position is expected to travel up to 75%.

Essential Job Function & Responsibilities
  • Directs solar/construction personnel and/or installation subcontractors to achieve completion of the project on schedule, within budget, with quality workmanship that conforms to original plans and specifications;
  • Coordination of personnel, material, and equipment needed to meet schedules;
  • Support the team with planning and utilization of proper means and methods for activities;
  • Analyze situations, identify and forecast pertinent problems and evaluate realistic options; and recommend/implement appropriate course of action;
  • Follow and implement the company’s Health, Safety & Environmental Policy;
  • Identify welding certification, training and experience appropriate for assignment scope;
  • Coordinate and implement resources and activities necessary to maintain a safe and quality execution;
  • Assure all work undertaken is within approved scope boundaries and is in full compliance;
  • Coordination with pile suppliers;
  • Advice site teams on tooling & equipment required to complete task;
  • Identify testing required per projects scope of work;
  • Communication with engineering parties to meet commissioning & construction requirements;
  • Manage manpower needed to complete project assignment;
  • Communicate with Surveyor and understand surveying equipment;
  • Maintain and supervise pile drivers and train new operators;
  • Coordination with material manager for all pile staging and receiving;
  • Pile driver experience strongly preferred;
  • Regular attendance, in accordance with company's attendance policy and supervisory assignment, is an essential job duty requirement for this position;
  • Perform other duties and special projects, as assigned by Management;
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of professional experience supporting the construction of major projects, preferably in the building of power stations or supply networks, or other utility‑scale construction projects;
  • Solar PV or wind power project experience, preferred;
  • Experience operating different manufacturers pile drivers;
