Compliance Accountant

Overview /p>

Compliance Accountant — Kinzler Corporation is seeking a Compliance Accountant responsible for preparing and supporting regulatory and compliance-related accounting functions, including sales and use tax compliance, retirement plan reporting, insurance audits, and licensing and registration requirements. This role works closely with the Liability Accounting Manager and Accounting Director to ensure audit readiness, regulatory compliance, and accurate reporting across the organization.

 Key Responsibilities ul> li>Ensure accurate and timely reconciliation, reporting, and control of all sales and use tax accounts li>Maintain sales and use tax software (
Avalara
) and ensure proper integration with the accounting system li>Prepare and submit all required sales and use tax filings li>Complete and renew state, local, and contractor registrations and licenses li>Prepare 401(k) and ESOP compliance reporting and support routine compliance audits li>Assist with audit, valuation, and tax work papers and respond to external inquiries li>Maintain documentation and internal controls to support audit readiness and regulatory compliance li>Partner with the Liability Accounting Manager and Accounting Director on compliance and reporting needs /ul>  Qualifications ul> li>Bachelor s degree in accounting or finance required li>2+ years of accounting or financial experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience li>Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook;

ability to learn accounting software li>Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills li>Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment li>Strong judgment and problem-solving skills li>Professional communication skills and ability to interact effectively at all levels /ul>  Preferred Skills ul> li>Experience with sales and use tax compliance in a multi-state environment li>Familiarity with Avalara or similar tax compliance software li>Construction or related industry experience li>Exposure to retirement plan reporting (401(k), ESOP) li>Experience supporting audits and working with external service providers /ul>  Benefits ul> li>
