Overview
Principal Engineer - Power Module Product Quality Hardware Engineering role at Infineon Technologies. - Define and deploy quality targets for power modules based on customer, market and application requirements with a strong background in power module package and assembly.
- Develop qualification strategies and plans for modules, considering cost, time, and resources, based on customer needs or product and technology innovations.
- Lead module qualification and full ownership of quality management across the entire product lifecycle.
- Collaborate closely with design and manufacturing engineering teams during module development to ensure all quality standards are met.
- Provide expert guidance on electrical and mechanical component selection, fabrication processes and assembly techniques to optimize quality and manufacturability.
- Engage with NPI (New Product Introduction) teams and customers to drive continuous improvement and resolve quality challenges efficiently.
- Support supplier selection and evaluate purchased materials and components to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Ensure that quality criteria are met with a focus on delivering tangible value to customers and Infineon.
- Document and communicate quality-related topics, including qualifications, risk assessments, and resolution of customer queries.
- Advocate for customer needs by prioritizing their requirements during problem-solving and quality-related decisions.
- Represent Quality Management in discussions on product deviations, production risks, and corrective actions during volume production.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with business and operational teams to align on Quality Management objectives.
- Train and mentor colleagues within the Quality Management team to foster expertise and encourage growth.
- Actively participate in strategic discussions and meetings with key customers to address quality topics and enhance alignment on expectations.
- A university or university of applied science degree in Engineering, Physics, Materials Science or comparable
- At least 10+ years of experience in Quality Management in a technical environment and/or Electronic & Semiconductor assembly/Research & Development/Engineering with product and technology development focus.
- Experience with PCB power module and module manufacturing, and ODMs
- Fundamental knowledge on JEDEC, IEC, AEC and ISO qualification standards for modules and their applications as a strong plus
- Excellent communication skills and able to work in a cross functional dynamic environment
- Experience in customer communication and fluent English skills
