Overview

Job Goal:
Keep all assigned facilities mowed, edged, trimmed, and weeds sprayed.

Grounds Manager/Director of Operations

FSLA Status:
Non-exempt

Terms of Employment:
Seasonal at-will position. 40 hour work week or as established by the Board. Schedules or shifts may be altered depending upon the critical nature or emergency circumstances of the job. Work hours will be determined as required by conditions. No paid leave, or benefits are provided for seasonal staff.

• Mow and trim assigned areas, which includes weeding, edging, and blowing off leaves and grass.
• Ensure mowers and grounds equipment are maintained, prior, during, and after use.
• Apply Lawn Chemicals as required.
• Assist in moving, hauling and rearranging furniture as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Have relevant grounds experience in a comparable work environment.
• High School Diploma or equivalent. Be able to read, write, and comprehend written and oral instructions.
• Have a valid State of Kansas Driver's License.
• Possesses a work ethic that is strongly oriented toward both efficiency and customer service.
• Meet all job standards in a time sensitive manner as determined by Supervisor.
• Ability to work unsupervised or within a team. Demonstrate ability to meet quality and quantity standards and on time requirements.
• Meet District grooming and interpersonal standards.
• Meet all District safety requirements.
• Be able to work 40-hour workweek; for the duration of this temporary assignment.
• Be available to work May through August, start and end dates determined by applicant availability.

• Move from place to place with physical mobility (walking, standing, stooping, pushing, pulling, kneeling, crawling, turning, reaching, climbing, balancing, lift up to 60 pounds daily), and use large, heavy equipment.
• Must work in and around dust, fumes and odors.
• Must work in noisy and crowded environments, with numerous interruptions.
• Must work outdoors year-round in a variety of temperatures/conditions including extreme heat.
