Job Summary and Qualifications
  • Demonstrates the ability to adapt technique/treatment to age of population served, including newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients, while providing care/service with respect to cultural differences and spiritual needs.
  • Positions and prepares patients for exams according to the type of procedure to be performed.
  • Performs procedures and assesses patients throughout and responds to patients’ needs as appropriate.
  • Completes appropriate documentation for each study performed.
  • Performs all computer and PACS functions.
  • Observes safety regulations and aseptic practice techniques to protect patients and staff.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of Universal protocols.
  • Uses professional judgment and critical thinking when performing procedures.
  • Participates in orientation and training of new staff members and instructs students during their clinical rotations.
  • Operates radiation‑producing equipment and applies radiation‑protection techniques to take radiographs in environments including Fluoroscopy, the Operating Room, the Emergency Department, and portable exams.
  • Operates radiation‑producing equipment and performs advanced competencies in at least two of the following environments: mammography, dexa, fluoroscopy, pediatric fluoroscopy, the Operating Room general c‑arm procedures, the Operating Room advanced technologies and procedures (including hybrid‑OR room, mobile CT, robotic spine cases, and advanced orthopedics).
  • Performs computed radiography functions throughout the medical center.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
Required Registration, Licensure or Certification
  • Current registry by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
  • Current advanced CT registry.
  • Certification as a Radiologic Technologist by the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts within 90 days of hire.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) verification course through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross – Healthcare Provider CPR.
Required Education or Experience

Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.

Preferred Education or Experience

One year of experience in an Imaging Department.
