Position: Elementary Title 1 Intervention Teacher

Elementary Title 1 Intervention Teacher (26-27)

Purpose

To work flexibly with the principal and colleagues to implement the school-wide plan to improve achievement of students, with a focus on early intervention in grades Pre-K - 2nd.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university
  • Current Kansas State Board of Education Professional License (PRK-3, B-3, PRK-6, K-6, or K-9)
  • Five or more years of recent, successful elementary classroom teaching experience
  • Knowledge of evidence-based instructional strategies
  • Knowledge of evidence-based behavior and executive function support strategies
  • Strong communication, planning, and organizational skills
Performance Responsibilities
  • Provide small-group or individual intervention instruction for identified students in literacy, mathematics, and/or student success skills (executive function skills).
  • Administer formal and informal assessments to identify students in need of intervention services.
  • Analyze assessment data to determine specific learning needs and to set measurable student goals.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of student progress.
  • Work closely with the reading specialist to:
    • Plan reading intervention instruction
    • Monitor reading progress trends
    • Adjust reading intervention plans
  • Work closely with the classroom teacher to:
    • Plan mathematics intervention instruction
    • Monitor mathematics progress trends
    • Adjust mathematics intervention plans
  • Work closely with the counselor, principal, and classroom teacher to:
    • Plan student success skills interventions
    • Monitor student progress
    • Adjust student success skills intervention plans
  • Assist in facilitating and supporting grade level or individual student data meetings, including preparation of data and documentation.
  • Participate in meetings and professional learning as required or requested.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, which are consistent with the general requirements and qualifications of the position.
  • Physical Requirements/Environmental Conditions
    • Requires the ability to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods.
    • Occasionally requires the ability to manually move, lift, carry, pull or push heavy objects or materials.
    • Occasionally requires the ability to stoop, bend and/or reach.
    • Must be able to work indoors and outdoors year-round.
    • Must be able to work in noisy and crowded environments.
    • Requires regular attendance and/or physical presence at the job.
