About the Opportunity
We are supporting a long‑established precision engineering organisation in recruiting an experienced Multi‑Axis Setter/Operator to join their expanding team. With significant investment in new machinery and continued business growth, this is an excellent permanent opportunity for a skilled engineer seeking long‑term development and job security.
Key Responsibilities
Set and operate 3/5‑axis CNC milling machines
Complete full machine setup, tool selection, and work‑holding
Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
Use precision measuring equipment to ensure component accuracy
Work to tight tolerances and strict deadlines
Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to maintain high standards
Maintain a "Right First Time" approach to all work
Essential Skills & Experience
Previous experience as a CNC Setter/Operator
Skilled in 3/5‑axis milling
Strong ability to read technical drawings
Confident using precision measuring instruments
Self‑motivated, reliable, and able to work independently
Desirable Skills
Experience with Fanuc controls
Knowledge of metallic materials
CAM experience (Edgecam or similar)
