Job Description

Production Operative – Andover (Assembly)

Permanent, full‑time position.

Working hours:

Monday – Wednesday 14:00 to 00:00, Thursday 14:00 to 23:00. 15 % shift allowance for these hours.

An Assembly Operative will work in a manufacturing environment, following Standard Operating Procedures. The role involves mechanical and electrical assembly tasks such as riveting, tapping, wiring, loom preparation, sub‑assembly testing, and visual inspection of assembled components.

Job Responsibilities
  • Work to tight cycles and deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Follow standardised operating procedures and adhere to safety protocols.
  • Operate pneumatic, electric‑powered tools and hand tools as required.
  • Pack goods with protective materials for shipment.
  • Manually load lighter finished parts onto pallets.
  • Perform electrical tests, wiring, and diagnostics per manuals.
  • Collaborate with team members to optimise efficiency and meet production targets.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work area.
  • Conduct visual inspections to identify defects or issues.
  • Report issues or test failures to supervisor to maintain quality standards.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement activities.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in mechanical assembly or manufacturing roles is desirable, but not essential as training will be provided.
  • Excellent teamwork ability and integration into a fast‑paced environment.
  • Proactive problem‑solving with strong attention to detail and quality orientation.
  • Basic computer/tablet use.
