- Provide best-in-class guest service: promptly greet guests, respond to questions/concerns promptly and courteously, assist guests in meeting their video gaming needs, inform guests about promotions and the trade-in program, recommend additional items, apply selling behaviors during each transaction, and express gratitude to every guest. Prioritize guests over tasks and circulate throughout the store.
- Support the overall shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, and nurture guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business.
- Process guest purchases and returns accurately via the Point-of-Sale (POS) system, ensuring top-notch guest service.
- Address guest comments or questions in person or on the phone, answering promptly and professionally to ensure every guest receives top-tier service.
- Promote Game Stop’s guest benefits, such as the new title reservations program and the Pro Rewards loyalty program.
- Maintain store cleanliness and organization, ensuring fixtures and equipment are in working order and areas are merchandised according to guidelines.
- Complete Omni-Channel orders daily.
- Safeguard company assets through inventory control and loss prevention practices, including scam awareness and safety best practices.
- Conduct store inventory counts, stock/restock merchandis e on shelves and fixtures, and move products from the stock room to the selling floor.
- Support store management in meeting and exceeding sales, profit, and shrink goals and complete required administrative duties.
- Count, balance, and reconcile daily transaction totals in the POS system. Complete closeout paperwork, assist management with cash handling, and make daily bank deposits as required.
- Check shipments for discrepancies or shortages and report them to the Store Manager or Assistant Manager as needed.
- Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls accurately, ensuring proper labeling and packing lists.
- Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates in the absence of management.
- Follow all opening and closing procedures and adhere to company policies and code of conduct.
- Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to legally work in the United States.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- At least 1 year of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred.
- Video game knowledge preferred.
- Must be able to work alone, stand, and move throughout the store unassisted for up to 10 hours per day.
Skills And Abilities
- Exceptional guest service skills and genuine, friendly assistance to every guest.
- Clear verbal and written communication and listening skills in English; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
- Meet performance expectations including attendance, professional dress, and grooming.
- Operate the POS system and complete required paperwork.
- Basic math and alphabetizing skills.
- Self-motivation and ability to work as part of a team.
- Problem-solving and judgment abilities; follow written or verbal instructions.
- Deliver bank deposits following loss prevention safety guidelines.
- Flexible schedule, including extended hours/days, nights, weekends, and some holidays; minimum 3 days/week availability.
- Remain effective under pressure; stand and move throughout the store for up to 10 hours per day.

Compensation: $8.50 - $11.25 per hour.
Benefits:
Full-time store positions are eligible for incentive programs, 401(k), paid time off, dental, vision, and health insurance. Positions may be eligible for a bonus and/or other incentives.
