RN - ICU

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while promoting patient and employee safety. This role emphasizes patient rehabilitation, safety awareness, and effective communication among the interdisciplinary team.

• Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission.
• Develop individualized plans of care based on nursing assessments.
• Identify teaching needs and goals related to patient diagnoses.
• Participate actively in patient rehabilitation programs and education.
• Communicate changes in patient status to provide continuity of care.
• Supervise and provide direction to ancillary nursing personnel.
• Ensure personal and environmental safety within the healthcare setting.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient education from the day of admission.
• Assume charge responsibilities as requested after orientation.

• BLS certification required prior to the first shift.
• ACLS certification required for specific locations prior to the first shift.
• Minimum of two years of bedside clinical experience highly desired.
• Completion of at least one assignment with the current agency is required.
• PCU experience preferred.
