The Credentialing Assistant supports the facility's compliance and credentialing processes specifically for contracted providers
, including physicians, nurse practitioners, therapists, and specialized service vendors. This role ensures all contracted partners meet federal, state, and facility requirements before providing services onsite.
- Must have, at a minimum, a high school diploma. College and/or secretarial training programs are desirable.
- Must have three (3) years of clerical/secretarial experience.
- Must be highly organized with the ability to accurately manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Previous medical records experience is highly preferred.
- Provide administrative assistance to the Administrator in a variety of daily, weekly, and monthly tasks as assigned.
- Maintain credentialing files for all contracted providers, including licenses, certifications, background checks, insurance documentation, and service agreements.
- Perform primary source verification and ensure compliance with federal, state, and long-term care regulatory standards.
- Track and monitor credential expiration dates; notify providers and contractors of required updates and collect renewal documentation.
- Coordinate with contracted agencies, medical groups, and individual providers to obtain required credentialing materials.
- Prepare and maintain organized credentialing packets for new contracted providers and ensure all required documents are received before service delivery begins.
- Assist with audit preparation, survey readiness, and reporting related to contracted provider compliance.
- Maintain secure and accurate digital and physical credentialing records in accordance with facility policies, HIPAA, and confidentiality standards.
