DaVita is currently seeking a Finance Manager to join Team Avanti, which is DaVita’s field organization for all dialysis operations in the Northeast across New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New England. The Northeast Operating group consists of 350+ Outpatient Dialysis centers & 100+ Acute/Inpatient programs with a combined annual revenue of ~$2B. The Finance Manager will report directly to the Senior Finance Manager and will have direct management/supervision responsibilities for a cross-functional team.

The role will be hybrid with ad hoc office time in Malvern, PA and up to 10% Travel as needed.

Malvern, PA area (hybrid). Travel up to 10% as needed.

Key Competencies to be Successful in this Role
  • Overall

    • Strategic Senior Finance leader supporting Operations VPs/Directors with joint P&L ownership/accountability

    • Liaison between Avanti Operating Group and national DaVita corporate stakeholders, including Capital Strategy, Accounting, Corporate FP&A, Acute Hospital Services, & Home Dialysis teams

  • Team Leadership

    • Lead and mentor a team consisting of FP&A Analyst(s)

    • Assign tasks, delegate responsibilities, & provide regular performance feedback

    • Train and coach leaders on effectively managing a P&L inclusive but not limited to budgeting, forecasting, and financial decision making to drive business performance & operational excellence; comfortable leading Finance training sessions (virtual and in-person)

  • Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A)

    • Thought Leader: proactively identify trends in financial results through analyses of financial results, variance to budget, tracking to forecast, etc. on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis

    • Process leader: drive accountability to action plans committed by the Operations leads/partners

    • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and identify areas for improvement, with a focus on enhancing Operational efficiency

    • Joint Ventures: communicate financial results of joint venture facilities to DaVita’s physician/hospital partners; must be able to summarize performance & explain Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flows, AR, etc.

    • Ability to lead all aspects of the Annual Budget process, including multi-year Treatment growth forecast

    • Ability to stretch "up" and "down" in responsibilities as needed

  • Business Advisory / Consulting

    • Capital Deployment: partner with operational leads, business development, legal, real estate, and other teams with financial modeling for growth plans. Projects include DeNovos, Expansions, Consolidations, Acquisitions, & Modality Adds

    • Innovation & Process improvement: ability to step out of Finance lane (Clinical, HR, Compensation, e.g.) and improve existing operational processes by analyzing current workflows, designing new methods, implementing technological solutions, and monitoring results to optimize efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance overall performance

    • Leverage Best Demonstrated practices developed within the Northeast Operating group to scale across other geographies

  • Project Management

    • Project Planning: can clearly define problem statement & objectives with a detailed timeline & scope required

    • Stakeholder Management: establishing clear communication channels and expectations; provides interval updates on progress

    • Time Management: can manage and prioritize multiple projects for competing internal clients

    • Ownership and accountability for the timely delivery of analyses and the quality of the final work product

Desired Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting or related field;
    Master’s degree preferred

  • Healthcare Industry and/or Multi-Site Operations experience preferred

  • 3-5 years in similar corporate Finance Analyst/Manager or higher role

    • Demonstrable knowledge of financial statements, the relationships among them and the underlying business operations they represent

    • Experience with quantitative modeling and analytical methods, such as operations analytics, financial forecasting, valuation analyses, etc.

  • Project management experience

  • Superior communication skills & executive presence

  • Superior analytical abilities combined with a high tolerance for ambiguity
