The Business Development Engineer will have multiple responsibilities within Chomarat North America including product innovations, business development, material characterizations, and technical support for customers and internal operations. The primary role initially will be to study and develop complete solutions to support new markets with reinforcement materials produced by Chomarat. Additionally, there will be some important activities around material characterizations for our existing reinforcement solutions to allow more widespread usage in applications that require design and data correlation.
Process and product engineering support within our operations will also be a significant part of this position, while working alongside our existing engineers.

Job responsibilities- Help to develop business opportunities and solutions in a few defined markets that are new to CNA.
- Create and characterize new reinforcement products to support new and existing markets.
- Develop partnerships with suppliers and complimentary companies to define product and process systems.
- Analyze and adapt product solutions to align with strong commercial strategies.
- Complete technical market evaluations with business development and commercial considerations.
- Support existing operations with technical guidance and engineering support.
- Provide technical support to Sales organization in all markets that are served.
- Prepare call reports after customer visits and important calls to communicate opportunities, key issues, and action items.
- Use industry networks and relations to direct efforts and connection strategies.
- Provide consistent communication internally to allow visibility to successes and challenges.
- Evaluate and establish strategy for CNA to supply design data and/or allowables to targeted customers.
- Frequent travel between 3 area locations.
- Travel to customers, prospects, and suppliers as needed (some international).
- Primarily working in typical office environment within Anderson, SC facilities.
- Frequent work in manufacturing environments that are not climate controlled, have high noise levels, and have exposure to high-speed machines and mobile handling equipment.
- At times you may need to work flexible schedules.
Provide guidance and leadership within multiple areas
Education – Experience – Skills- Bachelor’s degree (prefer a degree in Engineering)
- 5+ years of experience in Composites Industry
- Industrial Composites and Construction experience highly valued
- Technical ability to understand and assist customers with manufacturing processes and design concepts
- Experience with FEA programs and capability to design components with Composites is desirable
- Ability to confidently present products, concepts and presentations to individuals or groups
- Ability to work within a global organization with communications spanning multiple nationalities
- Advanced MS Office application skills to include Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Strong relationship building skills with proven success for developing solid partnerships
