Electrical Design Manager – Anderson, SC, United States
Vertiv is seeking a detail‑oriented and technically skilled Electrical Design Manager to join our team in Anderson, South Carolina, supporting high‑impact projects in the data center industry with a strong focus on low‑voltage (LV) power distribution systems. This is a hands‑on leadership role in a fast‑paced, engineering‑driven environment where delivering critical infrastructure on time and with precision is the standard.

AboutThe Role
As the Electrical Design Manager, you will lead and oversee all aspects of electrical design for multiple projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with global standards and customer expectations. You will manage a team of electrical engineers and designers while working cross‑functionally with project managers, mechanical teams, and clients.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage the electrical design team across multiple projects.
- Review and approve electrical designs, drawings, and technical specifications.
- Ensure compliance with national and international electrical codes and standards (e.g., NEC, UL, IEEE, NFPA).
- Coordinate closely with other engineering disciplines (mechanical, controls) to ensure integrated project delivery.
- Manage design schedules, workloads, and resources to meet project deadlines.
- Conduct design risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies as needed.
- Provide mentorship and technical leadership to junior engineers and designers.
- Collaborate with project managers and clients to define scope, design requirements, and expectations.
- Ensure adherence to quality assurance protocols and internal global design standards.
- Monitor project KPIs and report progress, issues, and resolutions to senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to process optimization efforts.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in electrical engineering design, including 3–5 years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Proficiency in electrical design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SEE Electrical).
- Strong understanding of relevant electrical codes and safety standards.
- Proven track record managing engineering teams and complex technical projects.
- Excellent communication, project management, and organizational skills.
- Industry experience in construction, infrastructure, manufacturing, or energy sectors is highly desirable.
- Office‑based role with occasional travel to project sites or client meetings.
- May require extended hours during critical project phases or deadlines.
