Position Summary

The Admissions Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring a smooth, welcoming, and efficient admission process for new residents. This position is responsible for coordinating admissions, maintaining accurate records, and serving as a key liaison between residents, families, and internal departments.

Key Responsibilities (Summary)
  • Coordinate and manage resident admissions, transfers, and discharges
  • Interview residents and/or families to obtain required admission information and signatures
  • Prepare and maintain accurate admission and identification records

    Track and maintain current bed availability and resident census
  • Provide admission packets and review resident rights and privacy information
  • Communicate effectively with nursing and interdisciplinary teams to ensure a smooth admission process
  • Maintain confidentiality of all resident and protected health information
  • Inventory resident valuables and ensure proper documentation
  • Build positive working relationships across departments
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Previous healthcare admissions or administrative experience preferred
  • Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion
  • Team-oriented mindset with attention to detail
