The Admissions Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring a smooth, welcoming, and efficient admission process for new residents. This position is responsible for coordinating admissions, maintaining accurate records, and serving as a key liaison between residents, families, and internal departments.
Key Responsibilities (Summary)- Coordinate and manage resident admissions, transfers, and discharges
- Interview residents and/or families to obtain required admission information and signatures
- Prepare and maintain accurate admission and identification records
Track and maintain current bed availability and resident census - Provide admission packets and review resident rights and privacy information
- Communicate effectively with nursing and interdisciplinary teams to ensure a smooth admission process
- Maintain confidentiality of all resident and protected health information
- Inventory resident valuables and ensure proper documentation
- Build positive working relationships across departments
- High school diploma or GED required
- Previous healthcare admissions or administrative experience preferred
- Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills
- Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion
- Team-oriented mindset with attention to detail
