Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a 13-week ICU assignment requiring BLS and ACLS (AHA) certification and at least 2 years of critical care experience.
Responsibilities
• Work in a 20-bed mixed Medical ICU/Step Down unit
• Patient population includes severe respiratory failure, sepsis, hemodynamic instability, neurologic conditions, complex metabolic and endocrine disorders, cardiac conditions not requiring immediate intervention, and gastrointestinal/hepatic failure
• Continuous cardiac and hemodynamic monitoring required
• Handles patients requiring invasive lines, mechanical ventilation, vasopressors, and advanced oxygen therapies
• ICU nurse to patient ratio is 2:1;
Step Down ratio is 3:1
• Must float to sister unit 5S with Step Down and progressive level patients; ratios are 3:1 or 4:1 as assigned
• Night shifts from 18:00 to 06:30
• Responsibilities include managing patients on ventilators, titrating IV medications, performing frequent laboratory monitoring, and managing complex medication regimens
• Must be willing to float within the facility as needed
• COVID-19 vaccination is no longer required
• Dress code and scrub color details will be provided prior to start
• Holiday coverage may be required during the assignment
• Local candidates accepted at a reduced rate based on facility radius rule
• First time travelers accepted
Requirements
• Active IN or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications, must be AHA-approved
• NIH Certification required, must be current per guidelines
• Nursys license verification and primary source verification within 30 days prior to start
• Must possess a US Social Security Number and provide a US home address
