Ovid Community Church (OCC) is a Christ-centered, Bible-teaching church with a rich 150-year history of faith and perseverance. Located between Pendleton and Anderson, OCC serves as a spiritual hub for the community. We are a vibrant congregation that embraces creativity, innovation, and growth.

The Worship Pastor will provide leadership, vision, and oversight for all aspects of worship at Ovid Community Church. We are seeking a highly skilled musician and worship leader capable of leading both contemporary worship and traditional hymns with excellence.

The ideal candidate is not just a musician but a shepherd—someone with a heart for leading the congregation into meaningful encounters with God. You will oversee volunteers, coordinate worship technology, and work closely with the pastoral staff to ensure services glorify God and foster active congregational participation.

• Worship Leadership: Plan, lead, and coordinate worship services that include both contemporary and traditional formats.
• Team Development: Lead, recruit, train, and disciple worship teams, including musicians, vocalists, and technical volunteers.
• Service Planning: Coordinate rehearsal schedules, setlists, and special music arrangements.
• Technology Management: Utilize and oversee worship technology, including Pro Presenter

  , sound, lighting, and media to ensure excellence in production.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the pastoral staff to integrate worship with preaching and the overall church vision.
• Ministry Oversight: Develop strategies for volunteer recruitment and mentorship within the worship ministry.
• Additional Duties:
  • Participate in church-wide events, outreach efforts, and seasonal ministries.
  • Lead, equip, and disciple volunteers for children’s and student ministries.
  • Optional:
    Occasionally preach or share in leading congregational teaching moments.

• Experience: Proven experience leading worship in a church setting with proficiency in both contemporary and traditional music styles.
• Technical Proficiency: Skilled in using Pro Presenter
  , Planning Center
  , and other related worship technologies.
• Leadership: Strong ability to build teams, mentor volunteers, and lead with humility and emotional intelligence.
• Musical Ability: Strong musical skills sufficient to lead congregational singing and coordinate multiple musicians.
• Organization: Excellent communication, planning, and organizational abilities.

• High emotional intelligence, humility, and teachability.
• A self-motivated team player who can collaborate effectively with pastoral staff.
