Position: Protective Services Specialist 3 (PCN 06N21033)

What You Will Be Doing

In this role, you will play an integral part in keeping vulnerable adult Alaskans safe. You will be responsible for receiving and investigating allegations of abuse, neglect, and exploitation. You will assess an adult’s decision‑making abilities and provide voluntary supportive services or involuntary protective services based on needs through advanced‑level casework, service plan development, preparing legal forms, attending court hearings or mediation, and providing testimony as necessary.

You will serve a wide range of individuals who may be experiencing significant behavioral, medical, mental health, and socioeconomic needs throughout an adult’s lifespan.

The Working Environment You Can Expect

This position is in East Anchorage, next to East High School. Work hours can be flexible within the general state hours of operation.

  • Investigation: Knowledge of the guidelines, regulations, and procedures associated with investigation, including interviewing, evidence detection, locating, gathering, and handling, and drawing appropriate factual inferences and conclusions. Provide oral or written reports of findings. Presenting evidence and providing testimony.

Special Notice
  • This position requires the ability to travel frequently within the state of Alaska by both automobile and aircraft, in all weather conditions.
  • This is a Non‑Permanent PCN.
