Position: Food Service Lead (PCN 20-6675, 20-6684)

What You Will Be Doing:

Train inmates in culinary arts, including food preparation, sanitation, hygiene, safety, and proper use and cleaning of industrial kitchen equipment, while ensuring food serving methods meet the State of Alaska’s Department of Environmental Conservation standards. Adjust work schedules based on inmate availability, document prepared diets and food items served, and ensure hot/cold food carts are accurately loaded and temperature‑checked before leaving the kitchen.

This job class is part of a series of competency based class specifications created for career areas within the Labor, Trades, and Crafts Unit. The class specification identifies the levels of work and wage grades within the career area, the core and specific competencies of the career area, required work behaviors, certifications, and physical requirements. Recruitment Difficulties:

Starting salary may be approved up to Step D-$26.65, if criteria are met.

Education:
