Position: Psychiatric Nurse 2 (PCN 065110)

The Alaska Psychiatric Institute (API) is recruiting for a

Psychiatric Nurse 2 What You Will Be Doing:

Conducts orientation of newly hired Registered Nurses (RN), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN), Psychiatric Nursing Assistant (PNA), and Medical Information and Services Assistants.

Works closely with the Nursing Shift Supervisors (NSS) and the Clinical Lead RN III’s on each patient care unit to ensure clinical orientation and competency checkoffs are completed.

Specifically designs, implements and updates training programs/materials for the Hospital Wide Orientation Program and ongoing education of nursing staff.

This position is located at 3700 Piper Street in the U-MED district of east Anchorage which offers several maintained walking trails, parks and nearby lakes. This area is filled with several restaurants, shopping stores, and has easy access to public transportation.

Licensure and Eligibility Requirements

Eligibility for licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Alaska; AND EITHER Successful completion of a formal training plan as a Psychiatric Nurse 1 with the State of Alaska; OR One year of entry level experience as a Registered Nurse.…
