Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with an active AK RN license and recent OR experience for a Magnet, Level II Trauma hospital assignment.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Operating Room of an acute hospital setting

• Level II Trauma, Magnet facility with 407 staffed beds

• Three 12-hour day shifts per week, with start times of either 6:45-19:15 or 9:00-21:30

• Weekend shifts are required

• Call is required, limited to covering for call-offs

• Travelers may be required to float to like units or other affiliated hospitals as needed

• Epic is the charting system used and experience is required

• Scrubs are provided

• Expected to provide perioperative care and circulate or scrub as assigned in the OR

• Team environment with support staff in a high-acuity, trauma setting

• All travelers are expected to float between facilities within the state if needed

• Must be willing to work 2 out of 3 major holidays:
Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year

• Assignment length is up to 13 weeks with maximum of 1 year at this facility, followed by a minimum 6-month break before returning

• Modules must be completed pre-start and annually, averaging 16 hours

• Time off requests are considered on an individual basis and must be submitted with initial application

• Free parking is available onsite

• Housing options may be limited in the area

Requirements

• Active AK RN license required at start

• Current BLS certification required; ACLS and CNOR preferred

• Minimum of 2 years of recent Operating Room RN experience required

• Experience with Epic EMR required

• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility

• References:
Minimum 2 supervisory references from within the past 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting

• Must be able to provide documentation of Hepatitis B vaccination

• Permanent staff must be separated from the facility for at least 3 months to return as a traveler

• First-time travelers are not accepted
