Overview
Using the Synergy Model, the Sr Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) supports, supervises, and evaluates staff new to a clinical setting during their first 90 to 180 days (18 months at PAMC) on the unit.
Hours:
Full Time (40 hours weekly), Day shift.
- Supports, supervises, and evaluates staff new to a clinical setting during their first 90 to 180 days (18 months at PAMC) on the unit.
- Acts within the nurse-patient, nurse-nurse, and nurse-system spheres.
- Facilitates a multi-disciplinary and collaborative approach in the provision of health care, within a specialty area.
- Promotes excellence in nursing care by implementing clinical standards of practice and establishing competency standards for staff members.
- Demonstrates a firm knowledge base and clinical expertise, functions as a clinical resource, conducts and facilitates patient care consultation, and provides resources to assess the impact of appropriate practice on patient outcomes.
- Supports clinical rounds with the multi-disciplinary health care team and works closely and collaboratively with physicians to establish collegial relationships that benefit staff, patients, and the community.
- Master's Degree from a clinical nurse specialist program accredited by the CCNE or NLNAC.
- Alaska Registered Nurse License (Upon hire).
- National Provider BLS – American Heart Association (Upon hire).
- Current certification in area of specialty (e.g., CEN, CCRN) (Upon hire).
- 3 years of registered nursing experience in area of specialty.
- 2 years of clinical leadership responsibility.
- Upon hire: CNS certification in area of specialty.

Compensation & BenefitsThe posted pay range is $64.19 - $101.34 per hour. Base pay is determined based on experience and other factors. Additional compensation may include shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
