About the Role
We're looking for a Tier 2 End User & Systems Support Technician to support an Anchorage‑based organization with advanced troubleshooting, escalations, and hands‑on technical administration. This role supports end users, workstations, business applications, and core infrastructure components. You’ll handle escalated issues from Tier 1, perform in‑depth root‑cause analysis, and work directly with system administrators, network teams, and vendors to drive resolution.
This will be a Monday‑Friday 8 – 5 position on‑site in Anchorage, AK.
What You’ll Do- Serve as the primary escalation point for complex workstation, software, and account issues.
- Troubleshoot Windows operating systems, user profiles, permissions, GPO behavior, and application failures.
- Support and troubleshoot issues within Active Directory, Exchange, and Windows Server environments.
- Perform advanced diagnostics using remote tools, logs, and system utilities.
- Resolve network‑related issues involving routers, firewalls, VPN, and connectivity.
- Manage incident queues, document steps clearly, and ensure timely resolution.
- Deploy OS/system updates, patches, and application upgrades.
- Assist with server‑side tasks: event log analysis, service monitoring, patching, and system maintenance.
- Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to resolve escalated hardware/software issues.
- Provide guidance and technical coaching to Tier 1 staff.
- Identify recurring issues and contribute to process improvements and knowledge articles.
- Associate degree or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of enterprise technical support experience.
- Solid background supporting Microsoft environments in a Tier 2 capacity.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Windows OS and Microsoft 365.
- Experience with Windows Server 2008/2012, Active Directory, Exchange.
- Ability to troubleshoot group policies, permissions, DNS, DHCP, and common server roles.
- Working knowledge of networking (firewalls, routers, switches, VPN, LAN/WAN).
- Experience deploying patches, updates, and endpoint configuration changes.
- Excellent communication and customer service.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple escalations.
- Comfortable owning issues through full resolution.
This is a Contract position based out of Anchorage, AK. The pay range for this position is $25.00 – $32.00 /hr.
