Process incoming data and reports, enter data in various database systems, and notify officers of violations and provide officers with landing and permit information. The Data Technician is the first point of contact for participants in the commercial halibut, sablefish and crab fisheries in Alaska and must handle fisheries data confidentially and efficiently to support regulatory compliance.

• Provide call center function support, process incoming data and reports, and enter data into various database systems.
• First point of contact for commercial fishing participants; manage critical fisheries data.
• Provide timely, confidential and efficient processing and dissemination of critical fisheries data.
• Data management and troubleshooting, including entry, retrieval, tracking, reporting, and archiving, and in-person interaction with commercial and charter fishing industry members and fishery management agencies.

• U.S. Citizen and able to pass a background investigation.
• 0-1 year of data entry experience (preferred).
• Experience with Microsoft Office products and tools.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Typing speed of 40 words per minute accurately.
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Knowledge of complexities and regulatory aspects of Alaska catch share fisheries; ability to process and disseminate critical fisheries data.
• Knowledge of customer processes (preferred).
• Able to follow processes and procedures.
• Able to adjust to a flexible schedule.
