Position: Human Resource Consultant 1 (11-1064/25-1243)

What You Will Be Doing

As part of the Employee Relations (ER) team, you will provide professional human resource guidance and support to assigned client agency(s). Independently manage an engaging and ever evolving caseload, ranging from informal consultations on performance improvement to handling progressive discipline, conducting investigations and processing complaints.

The mission of the Division of Personnel (DOP) is to provide policy, consultative guidance and direct human resource services to State of Alaska Executive Branch agencies. In alignment with DOP mission to provide direct human resource services to the Executive Branch, the Employee Relations Program is a centralized resource offering expertise and tools empowering State of Alaska employees to prevent and resolve personnel issues.

When the need arises, we handle personnel matters in a manner that enables a culture of accountability and respect. We build partnerships to seek holistic solutions that deliver both operational and proactive results.

The Employee Relations Program operates from two locations:
The Atwood Building in downtown Anchorage and the State Office Building in Juneau. Both office feature secure, open-concept work spaces with stunning views. In Anchorage, you can enjoy the sights of downtown, Turnagain Arm, and the Anchorage Bowl. From Juneau, the Gastineau Channel provides a picturesque backdrop.
