Supervisor Mammography Technologists – $10k Sign‑On & $18k Relocation Incentive

Summary
Lead compliance and quality management for mammography services within the Alaska Native Medical Center and the Primacy Care Clinic. Oversee standards, certifications, and accreditation for MQSA, ACR, and NRC.
- Maintain MQSA, ACR, and NRC compliance and manage all certifications and re‑certifications.
- Prepare and implement quality control, including calculation, identification, documentation, safe handling, storage, and disposal of radiopharmaceutical sources per NRC regulations.
- Coordinate annual MQSA inspections and ACR recertification processes.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure documentation meets MQSA, ACR, and NRC requirements.
- Develop, update, and supervise procedure manuals for quality, patient education, infection control, safety, and follow‑up.
- Monitor the Sentinel Lymph Node Program, ensuring instrumentation, credibility, and reliability comply with ALARA and NRC regulations.
- Supervise record‑keeping to maintain MQSA standards and facilitate reviews by the Chief Radiologist and Medical Physicists.
- Implement ALARA principles and oversee procedural changes with staff.
- Assist the radiologist with lymphoscintigraphy procedures.
- Coordinate inspections, sit with inspectors during program reviews for ACR, MQSA, and NRC accreditation.
- Serve as breast‑care coordinator for the Medical Imaging Department.
- Manage patient appointments and referrals for breast imaging studies, including breast biopsy procedures, ultrasound‑guided biopsies, stereotactic breast biopsy, localization procedures, and sentinel lymph node injections.
- Schedule imaging studies, working closely with surgery clinic case managers.
- Coordinate inter‑facility referrals and act as liaison between multi‑specialty clinics.
- Administer annual performance evaluations of all mammography personnel.
- Approve leave requests, coordinate staff replacements during absences.
- Supervise daily operations of the mammography department.
- Ensure high‑quality mammographic exams and procedures to support medical diagnosis.
- Develop goals and priorities with staff; assign tasks and projects, train and coach staff, implement corrective actions.
- Liaise with commercial representatives regarding equipment, software upgrades, and vendor contracts.
- Supervise student training and sign off appropriate testing for advanced licensure.
- Collaborate with the Bio‑Medical Department to maintain equipment functionality.
- Maintain referral and scheduling flow to ensure accurate communication with ordering providers and surgical clinics.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Associate’s Degree in Diagnostic Radiography or related field (AMA‑approved program); higher education substitutable by experience year‑for‑year.
- At least five (5) years of mammography experience (non‑supervisory); two (2) years of supervisory or lead experience.
- Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in good standing.
- Mammography certification (ARRT R(M)); current Basic Life Support card required.
- Knowledge of diagnostic technologist principles, practices, and concepts.
- Knowledge of accreditation and regulatory requirements for MQSA, ACR, NRC, stereotactic core biopsy, and lymphoscintigraphy.
- Knowledge of screening and diagnostic protocols, radiology safety, and emergency procedures.
- Knowledge of federal, state, hospital, and regulatory rules and regulations.
- Skill in managing personnel leave, scheduling, and staff development.
- Skill in performing screening, diagnostic, and core biopsy mammography studies.
- Strong verbal and written communication, leadership, and project management skills.
- Proficiency with imaging software and computer applications.
- Ability to analyze and interpret policies and procedures.
- Commitment to the mission of ANTHC, recognizing the option to pursue additional specialty training or certifications as required.
Preferred Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Diagnostic Radiology or similar field.
