Medical Assistant, Pain Management - OPA Pain Management Eagle River, Full-time
Non-Certified - $20.00–$30.50 per hour (DOE)
• Certified - $21.00–$31.50 per hour (DOE)
You will receive a $500 signing bonus after 90 days of full-time employment.

As a Medical Assistant on the CARE TEAM at OPA you will contribute to outstanding patient experience by working with other providers and staff to ensure patients are receiving appropriate care. You will also perform administrative tasks, environmental tasks, and organizational tasks to ensure the clinic operates effectively.
What You’ll Do- Adhere to the scope of practice of a Medical Assistant
- Room patients, take vital signs, and document patient visits in the electronic health record system
- Ensure exam rooms are stocked, cleaned, and maintained for patient visits
- Comply with HIPAA, confidentiality, and state laws
- Answer patient calls and follow up with patients
- Assist with patient scheduling as needed
- Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and staff
- Maintain a professional presence
- Report concerns to appropriate staff members
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor
- Understand medical charts, diagnosis, and coding for billing purposes
- Maintain calm demeanor under pressure
- Operate computer software and electronic health records
- Prioritize multiple tasks and collaborate with patient care teams
- High School diploma or equivalent
- One year of clinical experience as a Medical Assistant or externship in a medical office
- Certified Medical Assistant (AAMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (AMT)
- Licensed Practical Nurse certification with two years of clinical experience
