Monday - Friday, 9:00 am - 5:30 pm
Salary Range: $17.50-$27.00 hourly

Your Role At OPAAs a Reception Specialist at OPA you will greatly contribute to the team by ensuring patient needs are being met by providing outstanding customer service. As part of this role you will answer patient calls, schedule patient appointments, and complete some precertification and verification tasks.
What You’ll Do- Provide outstanding customer service to all patients
- Perform insurance verification and prior authorizations
- Educate patients on insurance coverage limits and options
- Work closely with the billing and other departments providing services
- Schedule appointments, answer phones, data entry
- Collect deposits and co-pays
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor
- You have knowledge of primary and secondary coordination of benefits
- You are familiar with CPT and ICD-10
- You have the ability to work in a fast‑paced environment
- You have keen organization skills
- You consider compassionate, skillful, patient care a top priority
- You have strong communication and interpersonal skills and an investigative nature
- You are a reliable self‑starter who embraces professionalism and learning
- You are efficient, accurate and detail oriented
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Six months of customer service experience
- Associate’s degree
- One year of customer service experience in a medical setting
- Exposure to medical billing and/or pre‑certification tasks

The mission of Ortho Alaska, Orthopedic Physicians Alaska division is to provide the finest orthopedic surgery and musculoskeletal care in North America through quality, patient‑centered care. Each of our physicians and surgeons works in concert with a certified orthopedic surgical physician assistant and other staff to provide patients an individualized care‑team experience. Currently, we have offices in Anchorage, Wasilla, and Eagle River.
