Under close supervision, the Level III Certified Medical Assistant will assist providers in delivering quality health care to customers and their families, perform complex tasks independently, and train lower‑level employees.
Responsibilities- Create, develop, and nurture culturally appropriate interactions; apply customer‑service guidelines as appropriate.
- Assist providers in delivering quality health care—perform vital signs, rooming patients, phlebotomy, specimen collection, dressing changes, medication administration, scheduling appointments, documenting care in the health record, and proposing orders.
- Maintain a clean work environment, report defective or missing equipment, and assist in disaster planning.
- Provide feedback and assist in improving quality of care to meet Joint Commission and regulatory standards.
- Ensure availability of drug and medical supplies; perform daily inventories, submit supply requests, and conduct equipment maintenance.
- Perform daily quality‑control testing and documentation of blood glucose meters, where applicable.
- Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with other employees.
- Assist in procurement, office cleaning, and organization.
- Mentor or train the CMA team.
- Collaborate with department leadership on process improvement and support change implementation.
- M ay act as a backup for timekeeper.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Minimum education:
certification from an accredited Certified Medical Assistant program. - Minimum experience:
4 years of Certified Medical Assistant experience (or equivalent education/training). - Required certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) and a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification from NCCT, AAMA, CCMA (NHA), or AMCA. - Knowledge: safety factors, medical terminology, oral and written communication, anatomy, pathology, treatment; accurate documentation; medical device operation; basic first aid; injections, vital signs, and phlebotomy.
