Telemetry Monitor Tech PRN – Alaska Regional Hospital.

• Provide competent, continuous cardiac rhythm monitoring and interpretation, safe and effective use of equipment.
• Act as a positive team participant on patient care units, having courteous interactions with visitors, patients, and medical staff and supporting unit and hospital philosophy, goals and objectives.
• Act in a composed and professional manner, especially under pressure.
• Follow patient and employee safety/security policies and protocols, including hand hygiene, use of universal precautions, use of personal protective equipment, and adherence to isolation procedures.
• Perform clerical work as needed, including assembling and maintaining charts, filing, answering and transferring phones, and relaying messages.

• Six months or more of telemetry monitoring experience in an acute care setting preferred.
• Knowledge of specialty equipment and tools: telemetry monitoring system management, strong cardiac rhythm recognition, interpretation skills & communication skills strongly desired.
• American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and certification.
