Overview
The Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA), Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management (DHS-EM), Public Assistance Branch is recruiting for an Emergency Management Specialist (EMS) 2.
This position is in the General Government (GGU) bargaining unit at a range 16. This position is open to Alaska Residents only. Please check the Definition FAQ to determine if you qualify.
What you will be doingOur EMS 2 will play a key role in coordinating and implementing grant-funded disaster recovery programs across the state, participating in and leading disaster response and recovery operations, supporting the State Emergency Operations Center, and managing emergency communications and assistance requests. During emergencies, they may be deployed to local communities to coordinate state responses and assist in disaster planning and preparedness efforts, ensuring effective management and recovery statewide.
