Position: Pretrial Services Officer 3 (Swing Shift, PCN 20-6819)

The Department of Corrections, Division of Pretrial, Probation and Parole, is recruiting for a Pretrial Services Officer 3 position for the Anchorage Pretrial Office located in Anchorage, Alaska.

What You Will Be Doing:
  • Operates a dedicated swing shift (3:00 PM–1:00 AM, seven days a week) to provide consistent supervision and enforcement during the highest-risk after-hours period.
  • Leads and oversees swing shift officers, working Monday–Friday, 3:30 PM–12:00 AM, ensuring stable leadership during critical operations.
  • Plans, directs, and manages all pretrial operations during swing shift hours, with accountability for work quality, accuracy, timeliness, coaching, training, and performance evaluation of staff.
  • Ensures public safety and court compliance through oversight of risk assessments, electronic monitoring, substance testing, field enforcement, arrests, and violation reporting.
  • Best suited for a decisive, accountable leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is driven by meaningful after-hours public safety impact.

A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in any field.

Two years of professional experience in probation, parole, pretrial, criminal justice, juvenile justice, public safety, law enforcement or corrections.

Or substitution:

Six years in any combination of postsecondary education from an accredited college and paraprofessional experience in probation, parole, pretrial, criminal justice, juvenile justice, social services, criminal investigation, public safety, law enforcement or corrections. ( 2.67 semester hoursor 4 quarter hours of postsecondary education are equal to one month of experience).
