Adult Probation Officer 1/2B – Anchorage Probation Office
The Department of Corrections, Division of Pretrial, Probations, and Parole is recruiting for an Adult Probation Officer 1/2B for the Anchorage Probation Office located in Anchorage, Alaska.
What You Will Be DoingMake a lasting impact on your community by balancing field and office-based supervision responsibilities for felons in the community. Field duties include conducting home visits, community compliance checks, and collaborating with law enforcement and community partners. Office duties include conducting office visits, maintaining accurate and timely supervision records, preparing reports for the Court and Alaska Board of Parole, testifying in court and parole hearings, and collaborating with local justice partners across the state.

This position is based at the Anchorage Probation Office near midtown Anchorage, serving the communities of Anchorage, Eagle River, Chugiak, and Girdwood.

- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in any field, OR equivalent experience.
- Four years of paraprofessional experience in probation, parole, pretrial, criminal justice, juvenile justice, social services, corrections, criminal investigation, public safety, or law enforcement.
- Alternate equivalency:
Four years experience plus 2.67 semester hours of post‑secondary education equal to one month of experience.
- Applicant must be at least 21, a U.S. citizen or national, and possess a high school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver’s license issued within the United States.
- Background check required; completion of a notary‑verified F‑3 Personal History Statement is mandatory.
