COMPANY INFOWe are seeking a detail oriented Mortgage Servicing Specialist to support servicing operations for a large Alaska based financial organization. This temp-to-perm position works closely with loan servicers, internal departments, insurance providers, title companies, and legal partners to ensure servicing activities meet investor and regulatory requirements.
Reporting to the Servicing Officer, this role requires the ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks and maintaining a high level of accuracy when reviewing and processing mortgage servicing actions.
WHAT YOU'LL DO- Provide administrative and operational support to the servicing department
- Input and maintain daily loan servicing activity and documentation
- Monitor workflow and track assigned servicing tasks to ensure timely completion
- Review and analyze servicer recommended actions and approve or deny within established guidelines
- Prepare legally binding servicing documents for internal approval
- Communicate with internal teams and outside servicing partners regarding loan activity and requirements
- Analyze information and recommend solutions related to distressed or complex loans
- Support servicing compliance by ensuring investor and regulatory requirements are met
- Maintain accurate loan records and documentation
- Perform additional duties as needed to support the servicing team
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least one year of office experience in mortgage lending, mortgage servicing, mortgage collections, or related financial services.
- Understanding of mortgage servicing terminology and procedures
- Knowledge of mortgage default servicing and loss mitigation concepts
- Familiarity with mortgage insurance guidelines and investor reporting requirements
- Experience with financial calculations and standard accounting practices
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Strong analytical thinking and problem solving skills
- Ability to read and interpret loan documents, financial statements, and tax returns
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
- Ability to interpret and apply State and Federal mortgage regulations
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with internal teams and external partners
