Controller – Finance Department. Reports to Director of Finance. FLSA Status:
Exempt, Salaried.
- Develop and implement company goals and priorities relating to financial management, budgeting, accounting, purchasing, and payroll in compliance with State and Federal law and Legends Global policies and procedures.
- Monitor Legends Global compliance with all provisions of the company’s management contract.
- Maintain contact with Legends Global’s risk management department and insurance broker for coordination of appropriate coverage.
- Review contracts for clients, events, subcontractors, food and beverage or concessionaires.
- Review and/or prepare event settlements.
- Review and execute checks and deposits; review daily cash receipts and disbursements.
- Monitor and project daily cash flow; invest excess cash as needed.
- Review purchasing of capital assets and supplies.
- Develop and implement all financial reporting for start‑up operations, including:
- Prepare financial statements for the client and Legends Global, and other financial reports such as monthly statements, annual budget and annual report.
- Direct installation and maintenance of accounting records to show receipts and expenditures.
- Direct maintenance of general and subsidiary ledgers, accounts receivable, revenue distribution, depreciation, cost, property, and operating expenses, and insurance records.
- Analyze financial performance and cost analyses for all departments; prepare monthly financial statements and recommend appropriate actions/changes to meet business goals.
- Prepare statements and reports of estimated future costs and revenues.
- Assist with facilities related tasks:
- Direct internal audits involving review of accounting and administrative controls.
- Coordinate preparation of client or external audit materials and financial reporting; implement recommendations of client as requested.
- Coordinate year‑end report of fiscal performance for the general manager’s report.
- Direct installation and maintenance of new accounting, time‑keeping, payroll, inventory, property, and other related procedures and controls.
- Review financial statements with management personnel.
Carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with all Legends Global policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Education and Experience- B.S. in Accounting or Finance from a four‑year college or university.
- At least 5 to 7 years of experience in public accounting and/or financial management.
- Extensive knowledge of general and cost accounting.
- Excellent math skills; high aptitude for figures.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and organizational ability.
- Ability to work with and maintain highly confidential information.
- Strong supervisory skills.
