  • Engineering Assistant 1 – $32.78 per hour
  • Engineering Assistant 2 – $37.78 per hour

What you will be doing

You will perform a range of geotechnical engineering duties that support project design recommendations and technical reports under the supervision of higher-level engineers. Your work will include assisting with field investigation planning, reviewing as-built plans, researching previous geotechnical work, and performing introductory field investigations. As you gain experience, you will perform data analysis, prepare reports, and present findings using tools such as AutoCAD and Geographic Information Systems, multiple discipline-specific design software.

You will learn and apply design standards, specifications, and engineering software while developing design recommendations. With increased proficiency, you will conduct less complex investigations independently, provide review comments on project plans and specifications, and support the development of geotechnical design recommendations. At the journey level, you will coordinate with supervisors, contractors, and project design staff to support project delivery. You may also provide training and guidance to lower-level engineering staff and consultants as well as provide geotechnical support through the construction phase of projects.

This position is flexibly staffed, and upon successful completion of the mandatory probationary period and the required flex training plan, you may be promoted to the next level.
