Aircraft Maintenance Assistant with Security Clearance
Apply for the Aircraft Maintenance Assistant with Security Clearance role at Akima Infrastructure Services (Pegasus Aviation Services). This position assists Aircraft Maintenance Technicians in performing routine and non‑routine maintenance on various aircraft types. The role requires basic math reasoning, troubleshooting skills, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to read schematics. The AMA works under the guidance of the Maintenance Duty Manager and follows strict safety procedures.
Responsibilities- Aids line maintenance services of transport category aircraft, including routine and non‑routine activities
- Completes all required maintenance records accurately and timely
- Interprets technical manuals, engineering drawings, blueprints, and schematics
- Operates related ground handling equipment used to service aircraft
- Maintains a clean and neat work area for customers
- Supports company policies and safety programs (AS9100, OSHA, EPA)
- Works efficiently in a fast‑paced environment
- Demonstrates professional appearance and attitude
- Demonstrates reliability and dependability
- Exhibits attention to detail and customer service excellence
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Enrolled in an Aircraft Maintenance Technician certification program (Airframe and/or Powerplant)
- Valid driver’s license
- High School graduate or GED
- Able to work as a cohesive part of a team with multilevel guidance and supervision
- Willing to work long hours in inclement weather and adhere to regulatory specifications
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Good communication skills
- U.S. citizen or proof of right to work in the U.S.
- Capable of lifting 50 pounds comfortably
- Fluent in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English
- Friendly and outgoing personality
- Capable of working under stressful situations and tight time constraints
- Self‑motivated team player
- Willing to work nights, weekends, holidays, and varying schedules
- Successfully complete background investigation, FBI fingerprints, criminal history, and pre‑employment drug test
