SummaryThe Geologist 2 provides moderate levels of technical support and geology assistance to Geotechnical Engineers. Duties include logistics and scheduling of drilling crews, outlining laboratory testing, performing data analysis, and providing assistance in the preparation of geotechnical reports. This person is expected to exercise a strong work ethic and organizational skills, and must be able to travel away from their "Home" location for extended periods of time to work on‑site at projects.
Job Responsibilities And Duties- Logistics and scheduling of drilling crews.
- Outlining laboratory testing.
- Performing data analysis.
- Assisting in the preparation of geotechnical reports.
- Developing technical deliverables such as proposals/cost estimates, technical reports and memos, exploration plans, laboratory requests, design details, and basic calculations.
- Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) – Developing
- Market Sector Software (gINT/Geosystems) – Developing
- Solid understanding of technical fundamentals.
- Performs basic technical tasks with market sector with limited oversight.
- Performs quality control of basic deliverables.
- Eager to learn and expand skill set.
Team player who follows the direction of others, asks good questions, retains information provided, and shares information with those less experienced.
Understanding Budget and ScheduleModerate understanding of scopes, schedules, and budgets. Able to predict with guidance the level of effort for individual tasks and successfully deliver tasks within that level of effort.
Monitors results on moderately complex projects.

Limited direct interaction, commonly in group settings. Responds to emails, attends meetings, and answers questions/comments with limited autonomy.
Education and Experience- Bachelor's Degree required.
- Years of experience required: 2.
- Years of advanced degree experience required: 1.
- GIT (as applicable).
- Valid driver’s license – essential for driving.
Requires regular sitting, standing, walking, use of hands; may occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. Ability to dig with shovel or digging bars; ability to walk and hike through rough terrain, snow, and ice; routinely lift and carry between 30 and 50 pounds. May need to work at remote sites.
Work EnvironmentWork may be split between the field and office. Field work is performed outdoors year‑round across high‑density urban to extremely remote settings. In the field, noise level is usually moderate to moderately loud; in the office, noise level is usually moderate. Employees must be prepared to adapt quickly to extremes.
